Fitted track wheels, coilovers or a mechanical diff to your BMW, and now the dash is lit up with warnings? That's normal. Your car still expects the factory parts, and it'll keep complaining until the system is coded out.
Here's how a BMW TPMS delete works, plus the two other code outs track and modified cars usually need: EDC for coilovers and GHAS for limited slip diff swaps.
What a BMW TPMS delete actually does
TPMS is your tyre pressure monitoring system. It warns you when a tyre loses pressure. Depending on the car, it either reads sensors inside each wheel or estimates pressure from wheel speed.
A TPMS delete, or TPMS code out, removes the system from the car's setup. The car stops looking for it, so the warnings stop.
It doesn't change anything else. Your tune, drive modes and other coding stay exactly as they are.
When a TPMS delete makes sense
- Track wheels without pressure sensors
- Aftermarket rims where you didn't move the sensors across
- A second set of wheels you swap on for track days
If you're running factory wheels with working sensors, leave TPMS on. It's a genuinely useful safety feature on the road.
Check your tyres manually
With TPMS coded out, the car won't warn you about a slow leak. Check your pressures manually before every drive or track session.
How the code out is done
Our TPMS code out is done remotely in about 15 minutes. You need:
- An ENET cable (OBD2 to Ethernet)
- A Windows laptop or Mac
- TeamViewer installed
- Stable internet, WiFi or a phone hotspot
You book a time, plug in the cable, open TeamViewer, and our technician codes it out and clears the warnings live. It works on every BMW F and G Series, including M cars, plus the Toyota GR Supra A90 and A91.
It's reversible too. If you go back to sensor wheels, we code TPMS back in.
EDC code out for coilovers
If your BMW came with factory adaptive dampers (EDC), fitting coilovers will fill the dash with suspension faults. Coilovers don't have the sensors the car expects, so it thinks the dampers have failed.
Our EDC code out removes EDC from the car's setup so it runs clean on aftermarket suspension. It's done remotely in about 15 minutes.
- Your engine, gearbox and steering modes still work. Only the damper setting is removed
- Do it after your coilovers are fitted, or in the same week. Running EDC coded out on factory dampers isn't recommended
- Reversible if you refit factory dampers
Active Diff (GHAS) code out for LSD swaps
Many BMW M cars use an electronically controlled rear diff, called the Active M Differential or GHAS. Swap it for a mechanical limited slip diff, like a Drexler or OS Giken, and the car thinks the diff has failed.
Our Active Diff code out codes out the GHAS module and clears the faults, in about 20 minutes. It suits the M2 F87 and G87, M3 and M4 F8X and G8X, M5 and M8 F9X, X3 M and X4 M, and other F and G Series cars with an active rear diff.
Do it after the new diff is fitted. If you ever refit the factory diff, we can code it back in.
Which code out do you need?
| You've fitted | You need |
|---|---|
| Wheels without pressure sensors | TPMS code out |
| Coilovers on a car with EDC | EDC code out |
| A mechanical LSD on an M car | Active Diff code out |

FAQ
Can you delete TPMS on a BMW?
Yes. TPMS can be coded out on BMW F and G Series cars and the Toyota GR Supra, which stops tyre pressure warnings on wheels without sensors. It's done remotely in about 15 minutes and can be reversed.
Is a BMW TPMS delete reversible?
Yes. If you go back to wheels with pressure sensors, TPMS can be coded back in.
Do I need to code out EDC after fitting coilovers?
If your BMW had factory adaptive dampers (EDC), yes. Coilovers don't have the sensors the car expects, so it throws suspension faults until EDC is coded out.
Will coding out EDC remove my drive modes?
No. Engine, gearbox and steering modes still work. Only the damper setting is removed.
Will a code out affect my tune?
No. TPMS, EDC and Active Diff code outs don't touch the engine software, so they work alongside your tune.
