Is My Car Compatible?
For BMWs with NBT EVO (iDrive 5 or 6) that already have working Apple CarPlay, factory or activated.
Check your software: Navigation → Options → Settings → Position & Version → Version. Look for NBTEvo_ followed by a letter.

Software P to Y: ENET (5 to 10 minutes)

- Connect the ENET cable from your car to your laptop
- Enter the code we send you
- Click Start. Our team is on hand if you need help.

Had the NBT EVO ID4 to ID6 upgrade done on my 2016 M4 and the difference is huge. The new iDrive interface looks much more modern and having full-screen Apple CarPlay makes the interior feel years newer. Process was smooth and everything worked perfectly.
My X1 came with the newer EntryNav2 system but didn't have Apple CarPlay activated from factory. Bimmer Drive enabled it remotely and now CarPlay works wirelessly exactly like OEM. Very easy process just connected the ENET cable and they handled the rest.
My G30 5 Series already had factory Apple CarPlay but it was stuck in the smaller split-screen layout. The fullscreen activation made such a big difference. Looks cleaner and uses the whole display like newer BMWs. No aftermarket hardware needed.

My car doesn't have CarPlay yet. Is this the right one?
No. This only makes existing CarPlay fullscreen. Get our CarPlay Activation for NBT EVO instead. It adds CarPlay with fullscreen included.
Which software versions does it work on?
NBTEvo_N, O, P, Q, R, S, U, V, W, X and Y. Below N, your software needs updating first. Our Firmware Upgrade + Fullscreen CarPlay does both in one session.
USB or ENET, which one will I need?
On N or O it's a USB stick and about a minute. On P to Y you use our app with an ENET cable and a laptop, about 5 to 10 minutes. We tell you which after you send your version.
Does this work on EntryNav2 or iDrive 7?
No, this one is NBT EVO only. For EntryNav2 / WAY, see our EntryNav2 CarPlay Activation. For iDrive 7, see our iDrive 7 CarPlay + Android Auto.
Is video in motion included?
Yes. Passengers can keep watching USB video while the car is moving.
What if it turns out my car isn't compatible?
If we checked your VIN, recommended this and got it wrong, you get a full refund. If the details we were given were wrong (VIN, model or software version), we refund the order minus a fee that covers the time we've already spent. Send a photo of your version screen before you buy and we'll confirm it first.
